Upstate NY Guided Goose Hunts!

In early fall, before the flocks of migrating geese show up from Canada, Upstate NY has an early resident goose season.

Resident birds differ from migratory birds. Resident flocks of canadian geese originate from a penned birds released in the early 1900's. They don't travel as far as the migratory canadian geese that breed in northern Canada and pass winter in the US.

The state of New Yorks estimates its resident goose population to be 200,000 birds statewide.

We hunt from laydown blinds in agricultural fields in the area. As the fields get harvested, the geese move in to gorge on the fresh food that is provided. Before your arrival we'll scout the area and set a plan for the following days hunt. We pull the birds in with sillouette, fullbody, wind sock decoys. Pulling the birds in that close in shooting is what keeps hunters amazed every hunt.

The late season hunting starts around the end of October and goes through November for Canada's. There are some oportunities for snow geese as well during the late season.
