June Salmon Fishing Awesome!!!

LOOK OUT HERE COMES JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June has been truely an awesome Month. Between the great Salmon Fishing, Excellent steelhead Fishing and great weather. It's been a month for the record books!!!!

Plenty of kings has been the norm. Steelhead also have keeping thing's interesting. Now July is here and I expect great Thing's. The Thermocline is established and all species have been fairly easy too locate. I expect the salmon fishing too stay pretty strong through July and the Brown Trout fishing too remain very good.

My good friend Greg Doust brought his Wife Kelly and thier 2 boys for some fishing on 7-1-2012. They had a pretty good time catching a few nice kings on thier trip. Robbi and Don did the afternoon and Robbi got his first steelhead every. Few nice salmon rounded out there trip for an afternoon trip. Today 7-2-2012 The Daniel Fishing team did it again. While we could get a three man limit to the net we did have plenty of chances. we released a nice fat laker and a few small steelhead. Great day Great Job, Mark, Steve and Mr.Big Fish Mark's son Bob.

Mainly its been deep( thank god for Shark weights) pulling Pro-Trols and Spin Doctors with Atomik green Krinkle flies or Hammers or a few Northern King Spoons ( Diehard, Spook,Nuclear Green dot) Luhr Jensen Dipsy Divers have been the best with riggers coming in second and Copper hasn't been earning its keep but getting us a few every day. Few open Dates for August call for Availability. Don't forget setting up your Night fishing trip for Late September. 2 Person night trips are 300.00 Try it night time kings are a blast. Shallow water at night and big Strong KING SALMON.

June Fishing What a Month

The fishing over the past month has been UNREAL!!!!!! The kings are here and so are the steehead. We are seeing steelhead everyday and some pushing 12 lbs. The kings have been 10-20 lbs on average. Some really good Brown's have been caught as well with an occasional lake trout mixed in.

Over the past week the wind has moved the bait around a bit and moving things deeper everyday. We have concentrated our efforts on Salmon and Steelhead. This is always species of choice. So as you can see i am repeating myself. CHOICES!!!! mid summer means Choices!!!!

Some things that are working the best. Pro-Troll 8'' e-chip attractors as well as Spin Doctors both in Green and White are working with A-TOM-IK flies in green glow and Hammer. Spoons in magnum sizes in various colors . Michigan Stinger Nuclear green dot and purple have been good as well as Watermelons.Northern Kings are working as are Dreamweaver super slims.

Riggers set from 75-150 Luhr Jensen Dipsy's from 225-300 are producing as is the ole stand bye ATOMIK 400-600 Coppers. Big Al's flashers are working on the Divers

We do have some open dates in August for salmon and still have some open dates for Night fishing for Kings in September. Please call or e-mail to reserve your 2012 or 2013 dates.

June fishing heating up WEEKDAY DEALS

The fishing is starting to heat up. The thermocline is becoming established and the bait is unreal. With these type of conditions, things will settle into too normal summer conditions. Weekly the fishing is starting to pick up. We had a couple weeks of slow fishing. Normally in June we see about a two week slow down. Due too the mild winter we are a few weeks ahead. So things have slowed but are on the rise.

The spring fishing started extremely early so I expected it too slow down a bit early. Now with the rising lae temps the thermocline is setting up and fish are becoming more targetable in there normal summer haunts. Many nice brown trout too 18 lbs are being caught in the area with a few steelhead and salmon starting too show up.

Here are a few photos of recent trips

April Spells Spring Trout 2012

Well as I am typing this update, the boats in and ready. The spring has Sprung here on the Eastern Shore of Lake Ontario. Many anglers have been out reaping the reward of this early spring fishing. Great catches of early Beowns have been being hauled in by area anglers. I have had a couple chances to get out in the driftboat for Browns. Its not the same as the big charter boat, but gets the job done in a pinch.

The area streams are running low and clear. So that doesn't give us much in the way of run off, but the wind has been helping tremendously. After a good wind we get turbid water and the fishing can be outstanding. Everything has been working so far. Stick Baits, Spoons it really hasn't mattered. The fishing has been close too shore in 20 feet of water or less.

We have some good dates open through May and June. April is already busy but have a few open dates. The phone has sprung too life the past few days with many calls for early spring trips. While most people are focused on early spring for trout. June and July are extremely good monthes for a mixed bag catch. While our primary diet is the Brown trout which have put on the pounds since the water warmed. These things grow like crazy from April to the end of July. While fishing primarly for trout in june and July the Kings usually start too show up in good numbers by that time. The good news is that we have choices during those months. Lake Trout,Kings, Steelhead, Brown trout all hang around our part of the lake at this time of year. Don't OVER LOOK JUNE OR JULY it can be some of the best fishing you get here on the lake.

August and September dates are filling in really good. If a late summer trip is in your plans for Salmon you can never call too soon. Many anglers from around the Northeastern part of the US make the trip every year and Know how busy it can be. I suggest calling as soon as possible to arrange your fishing trip.

The river fishing right now is very good. While local tribs are low and clear, the big river is fishing quite well. If spring Steelhead are in your plans Now is the time. I expect it to end rather quick this season due too no snow.

Spring Fever 2012

We are on the down hill slope of a very strange winter. Lack of Snow and extremely mild weather has created a buzz around the Marina's and the lake. With abnormal temps fishing in 2012 will get going before you now it. I am prepping equipment and soon get the boat uncovered for the coming season. Not many changes but a few which every one will enjoy over the coming seasons.

The brown trout season will be first to get crankin. Close too shore shallow water trolling for early season trout. If the number of trout hanging around over the winter are any indication of the season too come it should be a good one. Last season we experienced some of the best Brown Trout fishing in many years which with all indications should spill over into 2012. It's now that is the time too get a tripped planned for 2012. this is the time when i recieve many calls regarding the spring fishing. Don't miss out it's just around the corner. A reminder 2012 deposits have been due for a few months now for most that have neglected too get them in. Don't put it off any longer.

Steelhead fishing in local trib's has been very good this winter. The warmer than normal weather has had everyone out chasing steelhead. From boats too bank fisherman everyone is out having a great time. So let's get out there for some winter steelhead. Warm days are the norm this year. temps from the high 20's to high 40's have been very common. With a bit of sun and light winds it's almost like spring. give me a call or e-mail to get out and on the river.
