The conditions where perfect for our team to come in first place in the 14th OSWEGO COUNTY PRO -AM Fishing tournament over this past weekend.
We fished for salmon early on Saturday but couldn't get the number of fish to bite that we needed to win so plan B came into affect. MOVE shallow and get our limit of brown trout, which we did on day one. Day two we made are mind up to go for browns and get our limit and let the chips fall. We caught our limit and scored higher than 40 other pro teams fishing. Good enough too capture first place and $13,000.00 in cash and prizes.
So get it gear and get your trip planned! the fishing is excellent and now is the time. The kings are here but scattered and the browns are just waiting to be caught so give us a call.

The brown trout fishing in Mexico Bay continues to be very good. Several of the summer LOC derby leaders are coming from this area. We are catching browns in 80 to 110 feet of water on anything black and purple early in the day and the blue or chartreuse later in the day in the bright sun. Trolling speed has been 2.4 to 2.7.
The salmon are here and biting very well. Some very large 25-30 pound kings are already being caught. 200 to 300 feet of water down 80 to 150 on the riggers has been good most days. 275 to 325 on the divers and the copper 400 and 500 with white or chartreuse spindoctors trailing A-TOM-MIK flys in the b-fly green glow ultra or the green crinkle have been very good on sunny days.
If you look at the summer LOC derby results you will see that the A-TOM -MIK flys are doing all the major damage.Dreamweaver spoons in the Blue Dolphin are also working good as well. Good river dates still open and nite time kings fill fast call to arrange a trip ASAP

Sorry for the delayed report; BEEN BUSY. The past few weeks have been nothing but out of this world. Limit catches every day and some real nice size browns. Just about every day for the past few weeks we have seen some very nice fish coming too the net. We should have a few on the derby board but once again no tickets. We had a youngster get beat by a nice steelhead the other day which was to bad, it was a very nice fish. They are moving around alot right now but we have been able too make the right moves ourselves to stay on them every day. We went in search of salmon the other day and I can't tell you the outcome until after the derbies and pro-am are over.
Most of the fish are coming on michigan stingers fished weighted on the boards off the leadcore or on the riggers. We are still getting a few on the surface stick baits as well. Blk/ Silver smithwicks and Thundersticks. Three colors of leadcore have been good and five colors as well. Stretch behind the riggers 30-90 back. Mixed veggies, kervorkian, tuxedo, and one of my all time faxorites a solid red mooselook wobbler fished high in the spread has caught a ton of browns mainly in the mid morning. We have been fishing from 28-68 fow east of the Little Salmon has been the best for us.
My schedule for salmon in August is getting pretty full but we have a few days open and some real good days in September still open. If you are looking to do some salmon fishing in the river or steelheading give me a call and we will be glad too set it up.

The walleye fishing the past week has been outstanding. We have seen some very impressive fish caught the last few days. We are still getting limit catches of perfect eating size walleyes. This action should hold for a few more weeks. We do have a few more days open for this outstanding fishing. What a way to get in on this early summer action.
The brown trout fishing in the bay has hit a high point for the time being. While we wait for the thermocline to set up expect consistent catches of bigger browns than we have to this point in the season. The water is still cold so we are fishing close to shore using planer boards and shallow set down riggers. Same stuff is still working. Check out some of the big browns these two youngsters from PA caught. Lake trips are still available and we are booking fall 2008 river trips. I still have a few good dates open.

The fishing continues to be RED HOT. Fishing our of Mexico Bay continues to improve as the days pass. Near shore brown trout fishing has been excellent over the past week. We are still seeing limit catches of trout. We continue to fish near shore from 4 to 25 feet of water using planer boards and shallow set down riggers. The west winds have brought the bait in and some very nice brown trout to 14 pounds. We are also finding a few steelhead mixed in. Orange and gold number 9 Rapalas are working well along with the Smithwicks off the boards and the Natural colored Michigan stingers are working off the riggers.
The salmon have moved in shore as well with a few steelhead. Fishing for salmon off the power plant from 40 to 100 feet of water using the number 41 A-TOM-MIK fly behind green and white attractors is working well. Fish have been from the surface down to 60 feet. Lead core and copper are both producing fish in the mix. Wire divers out 150 have been good as well. I think we are headed for another excellent year on the eastern end of the lake.
We have some real good days open in July when we should see some super weather. Call to schedule a trip and get in on the fun.

The brown trout fishing continues to be excellent. we are getting limit catches of brown trout just about every trip. The weather has been very nice for this time of year and the fish are here in good numbers. We continue to do most of our fishing in 6 to 20 feet of water using black silver number 9 and 11 rapalas and black and silver smithwicks off the planer boards back 100 to 150 feet and the rosemary's baby michigan stinger on the down riggers 2 to 8 feet down.
Recently some king salmon have moved into the area so we will be able to go after some early kings. On light gear these things are a blast! Just imagine a 15 pound mint silver king on 10 pound test line and light action rods. Sounds like a fight too me.
The night time walleye fishing is also heating up. We have seen some nice walleyes so far and a friend caught a 13 pounder in one of our hot spots. What a fish. The spots are limited at this point in the season so call asap if you are looking to get in on some of this great action, I have a few real good dates open in september so give us a call and I am sure we can schedule for an exciting trip on the great Lake Ontario.

The brown trout fishing on the eastern end of the lake is starting to heat up. We are starting to see some very good sized brown trout and a few steelhead. This is the time, considering the LOC derby is going on right now.
We are still trolling in shallow waters close to shore, fishing our favorite spoons blk/silver michigan stingers and smithwicks in blk/silver orange bellie. From Nine-Mile Point to the Salmon River in 8-15 feet of water.
The Salmon River is still loaded with steelhead. As the water warms, the fish will be backing out to the lake. We are getting them on plugs, worms, pink egg sacks and silver spinners. One of the best years ever.
Due to cancellation, May 11 and 12 are open and at a lower price $350.00, give me a call 315-591-5699. We still have some good dates in May open and night-time walleye open as well.
August and September are fast approaching so call to get in on the great salmon fishing. We have a package deal for August and September, 4 people, two 6-hour charters, and one nite of lodging, $895.00! You can't beat this deal! Weekdays only.

The fishing on the Salmon River for steelhead couldn't be any better. The fishing pressure over the last couple days has slowed things down a bit but we are seeing fish every where we stop and fish. Casting egg sacks or pink worms is working very good and the fish are hitting hot shot plugs back trolled very good as well. This fishing should last until mid may before it comes to an end.
River special right now is two person drift boat trip and one nights stay for 325.00 . CALL ASAP
The brown trout fishing on the lake continues to be very good. We are still fishing near shore 12-25 fow using planer boards and shallow set down riggers. Michigan stingers in chartreuse and silver and green and silver are working well. The power plant area seems too be the best.
We stil have some days open in May and June if you are interested. I am currently taking reservations for night time king salmon trips in september and fall salmon and steelhead trips in October. The days fill in quick for the night time salmon trips so call ASAP.

We have had some great fishing over the winter and it continues to be red hot. The salmon river is full of steelhead and the secret spots are choked with steelhead. Over the past week we have divided our time between the lake and the rivers. The near shore fishing for brown trout has been awesome; seems the browns have been waiting for us all winter.
We have mainly been running small stick baits near shore in the bay and catching some real nice fish. The conditions have been great warm days with very little wind.
The Salmon River has been producing some very healthy fish as well. With the water being high we have had less bank anglers and more river to ourselves. Back trolling plugs have been the best in the big river while the beads and pink worm are working good in the other spots we have been fishing. The other day I went out in the afternoon for some fun fishing and managed too hook and fight 14 steelhead myself. Some real nice fish.
